50 Cent to Play Himself in Comedy Series 'My Friend 50'

Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson will play himself in My Friend 50, a potential Fox series about "unstable twentysomething" Amanda Kramer, who believes that joining the rapper-actor's entourage will solve her problems. Jackson will make occasional appearances in the single-camera show, which is styled as a "documentary commissioned by the most unreliable narrator in history: Amanda," Deadline reports.

Based on a spec script by Ava Tramer (Angie Tribeca), My Friend 50 will be co-produced by Jackson and Will Packer. The latter has worked on several successful films (Straight Outta Compton, Ride Along) in recent years; his upcoming projects include TV series for NBC (Truth Be Told) and ABC (Uncle Buck, an adaption of the 1989 comedy starring John Candy), along with a Ride Along sequel, which hits theaters January 15th.

Jackson, the star and executive producer of Starz drama Power, also executive produces SundanceTV's Dream School. His recent film acting credits include the boxing drama Southpaw and comedic James Bond parody Spy.

Kip Moore Extends Wild Ones Tour into 2016

If 2015 follows his usual pattern, Kip Moore will close out the year with a trip to some tropical destination for some worry-free surfing, where he can recharge his batteries following a busy season that included the release of his acclaimed album Wild Ones and an accompanying headlining tour. But he'll want to hang-10 before January 28th, when he embarks on the second leg of his Wild Ones Tour in cold Milwaukee.

The extended Wild Ones Tour runs through February 27th and will take Moore — whose current single is the Wild Ones standout "Running for You" — from the Midwest through British Columbia and Alberta before heading back down the West Coast. Chase Bryant and the Cadillac Three will join Moore on select dates.

Though he hasn't had a Top Five single since "Hey Pretty Girl," Moore has continued to expand his fanbase the old-fashioned way: with passionate live performances and a relentless touring schedule that typically leaves him drained.

"My body is just pushed to the very end," Moore told Rolling Stone Country back in August. "I've done two-hundred-plus shows a year for three straight years, and I'm on track to do it again this year. I talk to my other [artists] buddies and they're like, 'Naw, we're not doin' that.' What am I doing to myself?"

Here are the cities and dates of Moore's Wild Ones 2016 Tour. Venues have yet to be announced.
January 28 — Milwaukee*
January 29 — Grand Rapids, MI*
January 30 — Cincinnati*
February 4 — Park City, KS*
February 5 — Kansas City, MO
February 6 — Clive, IA*

Chris Brown Australia Tour Canceled Due to Rihanna Assault

Chris Brown's upcoming tour of Australia and New Zealand has officially been canceled after immigration authorities in Australia declined to grant the singer a visa. The promoters of Brown's five-day tour confirmed the cancellation in a statement that read, "Mr. Brown and the promoters both remain positive that the tour will take place in the near future. Mr. Brown wishes to express his deepest gratitude to the fans for their support."

Brown's Australian tour had been in jeopardy since September, when immigration officials told the singer that they planned to issue a "notice of intention to consider refusal" stemming from Brown's 2009 assault on Rihanna. Although Australia allowed Brown to bring his F.A.M.E. Tour to the country in April 2011, Australian feminist groups, alongside former Immigration Minister Michaelia Cash, called his visa status into question prior to the December 2015 dates.

"People need to understand if you are going to commit domestic violence and then you want to travel around the world, there are going to be countries that say to you: 'You cannot come in because you are not of the character we expect in Australia,'" Cash, now Australia's Minister for Women, said recently, ABC News reports.

When it was announced that Australian immigration officials were reviewing Brown's visa, the singer's rep released a statement saying Brown had "faith that a decision will be made with the full consideration of his continued personal growth, ongoing philanthropic endeavors and desire to perform for his fans." Brown's New Zealand visa was also under examination, but after Australia denied his entry, Brown withdrew his New Zealand application before immigration officials there made a ruling on his status.

This isn't the first time Australia and New Zealand have shut their borders to an artist. In February 2014, New Zealand banned Odd Future from performing, citing the rap group as "a potential threat to public order and the public interest for several reasons, including incidents at past performances in which they have incited violence."

Tyler, the Creator's often misogynistic lyrics also came under fire from Australian feminist group Collective Shout and Alex Hawke, a conservative member of the Australian House of Representatives, both of whom called for the rapper's visa to be revoked in 2013.

Amy Lee Belts Enthralling Cover of Zeppelin's 'Going to California'

Evanescence's Amy Lee has delivered a serene, striking performance of Led Zeppelin's "Going to California" in the latest installment of her ongoing covers series.

The track is accompanied by a simple black-and-white video, in which Lee sings "Going to California" in the studio and out in the wild. Lee's friend and manager Jordan Berliant deftly recreated the original track's delicate, intricate guitar and mandolin parts, while Lee's vocals build to a rousing bellow that may be a far cry from Robert Plant's ragged, torn performance, but are no less chilling.

On Facebook, Lee wrote that she was inspired to cover the Zeppelin IV classic after hearing the instrumentals Berliant had recorded for fun. Lee also noted the song has become a staple in her home, where she sings it to her young son Jack to help him fall asleep.

Lee performed "Going to California" with Evanescence during their live dates last month, and she wrote: "It's a pleasure to sing a song publicly that is such a part of who I am offstage — my roots, the style of music that we always played around my house when I was growing up, and still at every big family gathering, singing and playing music with my dad."

"Going to California" follows Lee's renditions of U2's "With or Without You" and Portishead's "It's a Fire." Lee also told Rolling Stone recently that she has recorded material for a solo album that she plans to release soon.

Run the Jewels Channel NYC Gang Culture in Brutal 'Rubble Kings' Video

Run the Jewels draw on the brutal history of gang-torn Seventies New York City in the gritty animated clip for their latest track, "Rubble Kings Theme (Dynamite)."

The clip follows a woman from a blighted section of town run by the Rubble Kings who is attacked by members of a rival gang, the Javelins, while walking home from her grandmother's house. The woman enlists the help of the Rubble Kings and the two crews assemble Warriors-style, leading to a tense standoff on an elevated subway platform.

When the trains arrive, the gangs break for it and underground the violence explodes. The Javelins are easily dispatched, and the woman — surrounded by her own crew — approaches her attacker and delivers a devastating final blow.

Run the Jewels released "Ruble Kings Theme (Dynamite)" in October as part of the 2015 Adult Swim Singles Program, but it's also set to appear on the companion album to Shawn Nicholson's documentary Rubble Kings. The film chronicles the rise of NYC gang culture in the late-Sixties, and explains how the warring factions made peace in the Seventies and paved the way for the birth of hip-hop.

The documentary was released back in June, but the album arrives January 15th via Mass Appeal. Along with Run the Jewels, the collection features contributions from Ghostface Killah, Bun B, TV on the Radio's Tunde Adebimpe and Little Shalimar, who also scored the film.

Morrissey Wins Bad Sex in Fiction Award

Morrissey has earned a spot in a pantheon occupied literary giants such as Tom Wolfe, Norman Mailer and John Updike, winning the Literary Review's 2016 Bad Sex in Fiction Award, the BBC reports.

The rock legend earned the top prize for his debut novel, List of the Lost, which tells the story of a relay track track in Seventies Boston, whose members are cursed by a demon and killed off one-by-one. The judges were wowed by an "ecstatic scene" between one of the runners, Ezra, and his girlfriend, Eliza.

Examples of Morrissey's riveting prose include, "Eliza and Ezra rolled together into the one giggling snowball of full-figured copulation." Later that same sentence, the wordsmith described the tryst as a "dangerous and clamorous rollercoaster coil of sexually violent rotation." He also employed such verbiage as "barrel-rolled," "bulbous salutation" and "whacked and smacked." The scintillating scene can be read on the Literary Review's website.

Morrissey was unfortunately unable to accept his award in person as he's on the road in support of his 2014 album, World Peace Is None of Your Business.

Literary Review has handed out the annual Bad Sex in Fiction Award since 1993 in an effort to "draw attention to poorly written, perfunctory or redundant passages of sexual description in modern fiction, and to discourage them." Pornographic and expressly erotic literature are not considered for the prize.

December could prove even more fruitful for Morrissey, who is also in the running for a spot in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of the Smiths. The post-punk outfit is among this year's nominated acts, and voting remains open to the public until December 9th; the 2016 class will be announced later this month.

Morrissey Likens TSA to ISIS: 'TSA Stands for Thorough Sexual Assault'

Months after Morrissey claimed to have been sexually assaulted by TSA employees at San Francisco International Airport, the singer alleged that he has not heard from the agency after filing an official complaint.

"TSA have ignored my official and legal and constitutional complaint," he wrote in a statement to the fan site True to You. "From this we gather that TSA stands for Thorough Sexual Assault. If you are traveling through San Francisco International Airport, you must be ready for a full sexual attack by people who claim to have your interests at heart. It is unlikely that ISIS would stoop so low."

The singer previously claimed that a male TSA agent molested him, groping his penis and testicles, on the afternoon of July 27th, even though he cleared both a body scan and inspection of his belongings. "In the interests of imperishable bureaucracy, my submitted complaint against this 'officer' will obviously be either unread or ignored because, as we all know, on matters of officialism, it is not possible to be pleasantly surprised by anything at all," he wrote at the time. "However, what is clear is that, should you find yourself traveling through San Francisco International Airport, you should expect sexual abuse from the so-called 'security officers' who, we are unconvincingly warned, are acting only for our security."

A few days later, a TSA spokesperson told Rolling Stone that it would consider the complaint, but that a brief review of the incident seemed above board. "TSA takes all allegations of misconduct seriously and strives to treat every passenger with dignity and respect," he said. "Upon review of closed circuit TV footage, TSA determined that the supervised officer followed standard operating procedures in the screening of this individual."
