Mariah Carey Joins Match, Debuts 'Infinity' Video on Dating Site

Mariah Carey has signed up for Match and debuted the music video for her new single "Infinity" on the dating site.

The singer's sparkly new video sees her lounging in her luxurious abode, swiping through the selections on the dating app, including potential beaus Tyson Beckford and Empire's Jussie Smollett. In the end, she hops into a convertible with Smollett, though she had briefly chosen his puppy over him. "I hope every woman who is single and listens to this song goes out and finds her infinity, whether on Match or the traditional way," she said in a statement.

Carey's Match account — under the username MC1toInfinity — shares basic information about the pop star along with a few screencaps from her video. She describes her occupation as "Self-Employed/Entrepeneur" and lists cooking, movies, concerts and religion as some of her interests.

Singer Hilary Duff also recently integrated a dating app, Tinder, into the promotion of her new single, "Sparks." The clip shows her scoping out the app in between shots of her discussing her dating life at a radio interview and dancing in a neon room. Artists like Zedd and Jason Derulo have advertised their albums and shows on Tinder as well.

"Infinity" is the only new song off Carey's recent greatest hits compilation #1 to Infinity. The album was released in May and coincided with her first-ever Las Vegas residency at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace. The residency ran through May and has no dates in June. The singer will return for a set of shows in July, followed by more concerts next February.

See Pixies Play 'Planet of Sound,' New 'Um Chagga Lagga' at RS Office

"Are we serious enough?" Pixies guitarist Joey Santiago asks, midway into the band's chuckle-filled interview with Rolling Stone.

"'Are we serious enough?!' We're Pixies!" frontman Black Francis interjects. "We are by definition Pixies in our temperament: a little mischievous, a little playful, a little not-too-serious, small." Santiago laughs.

Today, though, Pixies are cucumber cool. Francis has adjusted the office chair he's sitting in to its lowest position and keeps his sunglasses on most of the time, as his bandmates – Santiago, bassist Paz Lenchantin and drummer David Lovering – lean back in theirs, chuckling at in-jokes with one another around a conference-room table.

The band has stopped by Rolling Stone to play two songs – a brand-new, yet-to-be-recorded number titled "Um Chagga Lagga" and their 1991 Trompe Le Monde single "Planet of Sound" – as they work their way through a U.S. tour. Beginning last fall, the group began woodshedding about 11 new tunes with titles like "Super Lecker," "O' Little Cloud" and "Down to Tulom," some of which they're test-driving on their current trek. They're so early in the process that they've just started looking for a suitable producer to work with.

"We're trying to find our sound right now," says Francis, who had put together a bunch of demos and gave them to the band to figure out which would work as Pixies songs. Santiago says they've ruled out doing everything acoustic, but are still experimenting. The songs are so new that when Francis suggests playing "Down to Tulom," Santiago shudders. "I'm just not ready for that one," he says. "It's still in his tummy, that one," he adds, gesturing at Francis.

As for "Um Chagga Lagga" – a driving little ditty full of Francis' yelling and moaning – the singer describes it as being "kind of like a road movie." "It's a French truck-driving song, about the seedier side of life on the road," he says. "It's like going down the Bouches-du-Rhône, the Languedoc, and it's truck stoppy. It's about the things that happen at truck stops and gas stations and cornfields."

The other new tune that the group has broken out on the tour is "Super Lecker," which Francis takes delight in explaining translates from German to "Super Delicious." "People seem to be dancing to it," Lovering says. "Any movement is good."

When Francis attempts to explain what the song is about, he turns his attention to his phone to look up the name of its inspiration, whom he surreptitiously describes simply as a young Russian woman. "It's about Elena Ivanovna Diakonova when she was younger," he says eventually and matter-of-factly. "She was . . ."

"A super lecker," Lenchantin rejoins with a laugh.

"She was super delicious," Francis says. "She was married to this surrealist poet guy, Paul Éluard, and she hung out with all those bohos back in the Twenties and Thirties." He goes on to later describe her as a "muse," but neglects to mention his inspiration's more familiar name and association: Gala Dalí, wife of surrealist Salvador.

Instead, when Rolling Stone asks him what makes her song-worthy, he says, "Well, everyone is worthy of a song. Even Paz." She laughs.

The bassist joined the group in December 2013, filling the role that once belonged to founding member Kim Deal, who announced her departure from the group that June. Lenchantin, who has played in A Perfect Circle and Zwan, took over the position from Muffs frontwoman Kim Shattuck who was asked to leave the group in late November. Judging from the way Lenchantin jokes with her bandmates, they seem to have found a good fit.

"I'm trying to convince Paz to do her Moroccan-style violin playing that she learned a few years ago," Francis says.

"Jajoukan," she says, correcting him, referring to the Moroccan village Rolling Stones guitarist Brian Jones visited in the late Sixties, when he recorded them for his posthumously released Brian Jones Presents the Pipes of Pan at Joujouka record. "I played with the Master Musicians of Joujouka about four years ago," she says, with a wide smile. "They'd never played with a woman before. They taught me a lot of chords and ways to tune my violin. It was pretty exciting." She's brought her violin to Rolling Stone but does not play it in the recording session.

When asked why the current lineup seems to have clicked so well, Santiago says, "We share the same sense of humor and like the same movies. What more can you ask for?"

Although Francis jokes that everyone in the band loved Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2, he and his bandmates more soberly rally behind Nacho Libre as the band-favorite movie. "It's very polarizing," Santiago says. "Either you like it or you just can't stand it."

"I thought everybody liked that one," Francis says.

"I don't hang with those people who don't like it anymore," the guitarist says. Everyone laughs.

"Kim Deal's not in the band anymore," Black Francis says. "We liked Nacho Libre, and she was not into it."

"Well, look, Kim Deal's not in the band anymore, and I think we kind of touched on really the heart of the matter," Francis says. "We like the Nacho Libre, and she was not into it." Stifled laughter simmers about the room. "She knew. She knew, as soon as we saw it and we were all like, 'Yeah! Two thumbs up!'"

Another unifying force in the band that Santiago also calls "very polarizing" is the group's love of Led Zeppelin. Shortly after Francis' Deal comment, Santiago jokes that the group's founding lineup had suffered a communication breakdown over their classic-rock music taste.

The current group will soon be opening up for former Led Zeppelin wailer Robert Plant on a handful of dates this month. "We met him on a plane, when he was doing Glastonbury," Lovering explains. "We talked forever, and he eventually said, 'Who are you?' 'Pixies.' 'Boston's finest.' I was like, 'What?!' Then a month and a half later, we got the phone call. It was amazing."

"One of the first things I thought about was the ticket stub," Santiago says. "Because when we opened up for U2, our name wasn't even there." Francis offers up an insincere "Aww." "All that traveling, five letters," Santiago says. "That's all it would have taken, not a waste of ink." He chuckles at his own joke, and Lenchantin smirks as he counts out the number of letters in his group's name on his hand. "Six letters," he says with a laugh, correcting himself.

So with the group's "comeback" album, 2014's Indie Cindy, out of the way, a new bassist in the group for over a year and close to a dozen new songs ready to be recorded, does life in the Pixies feel like business as usual? "It feels like a new time," Francis says. "It doesn't feel like an old time to me. It feels like a new thing."

Hear Eminem's Hard-Hitting 'Southpaw' Song 'Phenomenal'

After Eminem spent weeks teasing his new track "Phenomenal" by dropping snippets and scoring a recent Beats by Dre commercial, the rapper finally premiered the hard-hitting cut at midnight Monday night. The song will appear on the soundtrack of the upcoming boxing drama Southpaw and shares many of the film's themes of resilience and revival. "Phenomenal" also makes allusions to Eminem's own struggles and fight to rise where he is in the rap world, since a southpaw in boxing is comparable to being a white rapper, as Southpaw writer Kurt Sutter pointed out when the film was first announced.

On the galvanizing, DJ Khalil-produced cut, Eminem raps, "Let me self-empower you/When you're down and they're trying to clown the fuck out of you/When you feel like you're running out of fuel/I'll show you how to use doubt as fuel/Convert it to gunpowder too."

Eminem also makes reference to Cypress Hill's "How I Could Just Kill a Man" as well as Southpaw itself, with the rapper touting, "I write with the left/Same hand I hold the mic with as I fight to the death." According to the Detroit Free Press, the song was co-written by the rapper's longtime collaborator Luis Resto and his brother Mario Resto.

Eminem was originally brought onboard in 2010 to star in Southpaw, which would have marked his first starring role since 8 Mile. However, the rapper decided to leave the film to concentrate on recording his The Marshall Mathers LP 2. Director Antoine Fuqua and Sutter then recruited Jake Gyllenhaal for the main role, and Eminem opted to executive produce the film's soundtrack, which will be released via his Shady Records.

"We have been involved in developing Southpaw since its inception, and Eminem has dedicated himself to ensuring that this film captured his passion for the project through his music," Shady Records president Paul Rosenberg told Billboard. "We've assembled a great soundtrack to accompany what's sure to be one of the finest boxing films ever."

"Phenomenal" isn't the first time Eminem has found inspiration in boxing: His 2010 album Recovery boasted a track titled "Cinderella Man," a reference to the Russell Crowe-starring history-based fight flick.

Apple Taps Drake for iTunes Radio DJ Spot

Apple has signed up Drake to serve as a guest DJ on its imminent iTunes Radio venture, a source close to the situation confirms to Rolling Stone

New York Post reports that Apple is also in talks with Pharrell Williams and David Guetta for the venture. Representatives for Williams and Guetta did not immediately reply to requests for confirmation. Representatives for Apple and Drake declined to comment.

Apple is expected to announce its plans for the company's new music-streaming ventures at its Worldwide Developers Conference in San Francisco, which begins on June 8th and runs through the 12th.

The Post reports that Apple has also been in talks with several record labels leading up to the announcement, and that the company is considering offering a three-month free trial for its prospective $10 a month pay service to consumers.

Drake, who released the mixtape If You're Reading This It's Too Late in February, has frequently been in music-news headlines in the last few months, ever since he made a sour face after Madonna made out with him during a performance at Coachella. "Don't misinterpret my shock!!" Drake later wrote on Instagram. "I got to make out with the queen Madonna and I feel 100 about that forever."

The rapper has also announced that he would be appearing at Landmark Music Festival in Washington, D.C. and at the Austin City Limits Festival in Austin the following month. More recently, he took part in a charity softball game in Houston over Memorial Day weekend.

Kendrick Lamar Boots Salad CEO Off Stage After Lyric Flub

Lesson learned: If you name a salad after Kendrick Lamar, it's a good idea to learn the rapper's lyrics in case you end up onstage with him. During his Sunday headlining spot at Sweetlife Festival, an inspired Lamar invited a random fan – which turned out to be festival co-founder (and CEO of salad company Sweetgreen) Jonathan Neman – onstage to help rap "m.A.A.d city," Pitchfork reports. The caveat was that the lucky individual had to know "every single motherfuckin' word" of the track, and Neman didn't pass the audition. Around the 3:40 mark of the above clip, he flubs background vocals on the first four bars; Lamar cuts off his band and has the salad exec escorted off the stage by security.

Lamar introduces Neman as "Jonathan" and appears to not know Neman named a salad, "Beets Don't Kale My Vibe," after the rapper's hit "Bitch Don't Kill My Vibe." After booting Neman offstage by saying "Nah, nah, nah, nah" and requesting his band to play some "Apollo music," he surveys the crowd for a replacement to redeem the flub. "For some reason, every time I bring up a young lady up here, they always outdo the men who come up here," he says, recruiting a woman named Ayanna.

Lamar instructs Ayanna on mic placement technique and says he plans to "follow" her lead. But his advice was unnecessary – she destroys every second of the track with her manic energy and spot-on lyrics. "She killed that shit!," Lamar screams after the performance. "She not only represented what I do, and I truly appreciate that, but she represented every one of y'all out here tonight."

Lamar released his third studio album, the acclaimed To Pimp a Butterfly, in March.

Kanye West, Kim Kardashian Expecting Second Child

Kim Kardashian and husband Kanye West are expecting their second child. The reality star announced her pregnancy during the Sunday midseason finale of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, US Weekly reports. In a scene previewing the season's second half, Kardashian tells her family the news: "I just got the blood test back, and I am pregnant!"

Kardashian – who gave birth to their daughter, North, in June 2013 – teased the news on Twitter prior to the episode's premiere, writing, "Who is excited for tonight's KUWTK finale?!?!?! There's some exciting news to share so make sure you tune in!!!!!"

The couple's struggles to conceive were a major plot line in this season of the E! show. In the Season 10 premiere, a frustrated Kardashian joked she and West have sex "500 times a day" in hopes of getting pregnant, and she visited doctors throughout the subsequent episodes. Us Weekly reported last week that Kardashian had been considering pregnancy alternatives including In Vitro Fertilization.

In April, a California appeals court allowed the couple to proceed with a lawsuit against YouTube co-founder Chad Hurley after the tech executive – despite having signed a confidentiality agreement – leaked video footage of the rapper's elaborate 2013 marriage proposal to Kardashian.

The proposal, Kardashian's 33rd birthday present from West, happened that October at San Francisco Giants' home stadium, AT&T Park, and incorporated the Chicago Symphony and a Jumbotron message reading "PLEEEASE MARRY MEEE!!!" The moment was intended to highlight an upcoming season of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, but Hurley leaked the fresh clip to his then-new video sharing hub, MixBit.

West has not commented publicly on the pregnancy, but tweeted last week, "Kim, I’m so happy to be married to the girl of my dreams… I love you and Nori so much!!! I would find you in any lifetime."
